Director Anahi Testa Pedersen has been filming doctor Peter Gøtzsche for four and a half years, getting to know Peter professionally but also as a friend. The film takes us on Anahi’s journey with a person who she thinks is brave and who, in many ways, she can also identify with. Peter is very critical of the methods of the pharmaceutical industry and the use of psychotropic drugs in our healthcare system. Anahi herself has been taking psychiatric drugs and, like Peter, she has an attitude about what medicine can do and can not do. They both fight for the good in our world and thus, the film is also a portrayal of a meeting between two rather uncompromising souls.
The film has been created in a collaboration between Anahi and people who work with film and who also have an interest in psychiatry as a topic. Their specialized knowledge has been shared in the process of creating and distributing the film.
