Here is what Trine Torp, spokeman on social affairs for the party SF, wrote after the premiere: Premiere at Diagnosing Psychiatry by Anahi Testa Pedersen. Many good points in the film and the subsequent debate, for example: - The diagnostic language helps to maintain the understanding of mental disorder as a biochemical subject to medical treatment - diagnoses are often perceived as chronic. They should be able to be reassessed. - There is a need for alternatives to medical treatment and help for the withdrawal of psychiatric drugs. - Forced medication is one of the most traumatic forms of compulsion.

Here is an observation, written in 'Death in Psychiatry's News Journal: Debate Film: Diagnosing Psychiatry. Premiering in Grand Theatre, Copenhagen, on October 22nd 2017, 7pm. After the film, there was a panel debate with clinical pharmacist Bertel Rüdinger, psychologist Olga Runciman, professor Peter Gøtzsche, and filmmaker Anahi Testa Pedersen. Thank you to Anahi for a fantastic and important film. Diagnosing Psychiatry is built around professor Peter Gøtzsche's work. Anahi initiates the film by saying that she has been filming Peter for four years and that Peter is very critical of the use of psychotropic drugs which goes well in line with her own attitude. Anahi was diagnosed some years ago and consequently she has been taking psychotropic drugs, so she knows what these dangerous substances are capable and not capable of. 'Diagnosing Psychiatry takes us on a journey around the world, experiencing Peter in many situations where he is sent for as the expert. At the same time, Anahi continuously tells her grotesque treatment story about how she got a diagnosis and accompanying treatment / antipsychotics without asking her about the reasons for her crisis. Anahi also says that she has not been able to get rid of her diagnosis, although she has been reported for a long time. DiP (Death in Psychiatry) believes: Diagnosis often cause more harm than good. It's a movie one should not miss. The movie will be shown around Denmark, hopefully in the near future. So watch out and see if it appears in your neighborhood. Diagnosing Psychiatry is well in line with DiP's theme, which deals with diagnoses:
